I currently have DSL from SBC and the modem they supplied to me is installed in the kitchen where I have my laptop (it's out of the way of any potential spills and stuff). However, my room has a phone jack and I'm wondering, can i put another modem in my room? How many DSL Modems can I have in my home?

I have a second older modem that I never returned when I cancelled my service. Now, I'm trying to use it at my brother's house who was dsl service and another modem. I'm having trouble connecting with either modem. Once I'm connected, switching back and forth between the two can be done but takes a long time. Seems like maybe the two modems are fighting for control of the line.

What will happen if you put two DSL modems on the same line? I have two locations where I need to connect - a router or wireless is not practical because of the distant location/circumstances.

I have a 2wire dsl modem that is trying to die. I need a new modem, and thought this would be a simple task. But, it's very hard to find any DSL modems for sale, let alone for a good price. It seems like the majority of modems are for cable internet, which is very pricey. Does anyone know what happened? And, what ADSL means? Many thanks.
